Ask before you book
Tell us your dates. A guide replies within 48 hours.
How fit do I need to be?
Each route has an effort grade from 1 to 5, set by walking hours and daily ascent, and takes the grade of its hardest day. Grade 3 means up to seven hours of walking and up to 1,000 m of ascent on the hardest day. The ice traverse is Grade 5 and adds sledge hauling, which we teach on day two. Tell us about your recent walks and a guide suggests a route.
What happens if the weather closes in?
Guides change the day plan, wait in camp or use the reserve day on the ice traverse. If we cancel a departure, you choose a new date or a full refund of what you paid. If you cancel, the terms in your booking confirmation apply.
What is not included?
Flights to Iceland, hotel nights before and after the trip, travel and rescue insurance and a personal sleeping bag. Each journey page lists what is included.
